Luximax pack shot

Luximax®

Herbicide

Give your canola crop the best possible start and control annual ryegrass without the compromise

Mode of action: Group 30 herbicide
Active ingredient(s): 750 g/L Cinmethylin

Now growers can introduce Luximax’s unique Group 30 mode of action to the rotation in the canola phase to maintain the highest levels of weed control with exceptional crop safety. If you’ve already established good annual ryegrass control and reduced the seed bank, Luximax can now also be used at an economical lower rate to maintain that control and protect the ongoing effectiveness of older grass pre-ems in your program.

Key benefits

  • Benchmark pre-emergent control of annual ryegrass in both canola and wheat
  • Residual protection against key grass weeds for up to 12 weeks
  • Equally effective on annual ryegrass resistant to other modes of action
  • Unique mode of action – new to canola – strengthens resistance management
  • Crop safety equal to or better than the leading alternatives in canola
  • Choice of rates in canola allows optimal cost-effectiveness as well as control

Helping you get the best out of Luximax in canola

How and when to use Luximax

Rates

Luximax can now be used at a rate range in both canola and wheat:

  • The 500 mL/ha rate will continue to provide excellent pre-emergent control of annual ryegrass where higher weed densities and sub optimal conditions are expected.
  • Where lower weed densities and in mixtures with alternate pre-emergent herbicide, growers can choose to reduce their usage rate accordingly down to the lowest label rate of 333 mL/ha.

Method

Ground application using flat-fan nozzles applied through standard boom-spraying equipment.

Application as a MEDIUM spray quality (defined by ASAE S572 Standard) using air induction nozzles is recommended. Ensure complete and even spray coverage of the soil.

Luximax must be incorporated by sowing using knife points and press wheels as soon as possible after application and certainly within 3 days. Do not apply Luximax unless it can be incorporated within 3 days.

Coverage

Thorough, even coverage of uncultivated soil will produce the best results, and weed control may be adversely affected if stubble or other ground cover is over 50%. A knockdown herbicide should be used to control emerged weeds.

Sowing

Apply pre-sowing and incorporate by sowing (IBS) using knife point tyne and press-wheel seeding system. For best results, apply just prior to sowing. Canola should be planted at a depth that ensures that the seed is covered by soil. Wheat seed must be sown at a minimum depth of 30 mm.

Luximax is a great addition to the pre-emergent stable for Yorke Peninsula. We have documented resistance in ryegrass to Group B, D, J, K and M. So, having a brand-new mode of action in Group 30 available this season, has assisted greatly in ryegrass management. Luximax has worked wonderfully well when compared to the current standards. Growers and agronomists alike have commented how well it has worked in the problematic ryegrass paddocks.
