Community Paddocks

Community Paddock logo small

Since 2022, BASF Australia has proudly partnered with growers and community groups around the country to establish and grow Community Paddocks. Throughout the growing season, BASF will provide its range of crop protection products suitable for use on the Community Paddock and collaborate with local growers to see firsthand how BASF's crop protection portfolio can help them gain more control and enhance their cropping programs. Following the harvest of the Community Paddocks, all profits will be donated back to rural community groups.

Now in its fourth year, the program is partnering with five community groups across the country to showcase sustainable farming practices, trial crop solutions, and give back to local communities in ways that matter to them.

2022:

BASF partnered with local grain growers Andrew and Rodney Weidemann, from Weidemann Pastoral Co. to establish BASF’s inaugural Community Paddock for the Rupanyup community in north-west Victoria. Following harvest of the crop, funds were donated to the Rupanyup Panthers Football and Netball Club.

2023:

The BASF Community Paddocks initiative extended to two new locations in Paskeville, South Australia and Nhill, Victoria. BASF partnered with the township of Nhill to establish a Community Paddock for the Nhill & District Sporting Club in North-West Victoria. In Paskeville, BASF partnered with local grower, Grant Pontifex, to establish a Community Paddock for the Paskeville Progress Association in South Australia. Profits from the harvest obtained were donated to the Nhill District Sporting Club and Paskeville Progress Association.

2024:

BASF and the Maitland Apex Club joined forces to grow a community crop in Maitland, South Australia. For the first time, the Community Paddock program expanded into Western Australia with a canola paddock in Scaddan, where BASF partnered with local grower Gavin Egan to grow the canola crop. Funds raised supported local projects, including a new children’s playground in Maitland, SA, and contributed to the rebuilding of the community clubhouse in Scaddan, WA.
