Our Wagga Wagga (Yathella) Innovation Site sits alongside the Murrumbidgee River, just under 170kms from Canberra. Wagga Wagga (Yathella) is one of our key sites this year where we will look at herbicides Voraxor and Luximax tested in wheat plots alongside the industry standards. We’ll also showcase our latest high performing canola varieties including new LibertyLink trait technology, designed to offer extra in-crop flexibility for canola growers whilst reducing annual ryegrass resistance pressure.

Treatments 2-8: 1st knock Basta (3-5L/ha), 2nd knock 7 days later as per treatment list at sowing. (no glyphosate in first knock due to known resistance issues at Wagga site). Visual assessment of crop safety for these treatments, so a clean site required.
Treatments 10-14: double knock scenarios. Some treatments inclusive of glyphosate to evaluate the impact of glyphosate resistant ryegrass and the impact of Voraxor.
Treatments 1,9,15: A variety of untreated control strips are included to give a reference point for the various treatments and discussion points.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do we know about the resistance status of the ryegrass at the site and how did this impact our choice of knockdowns?
The ryegrass has been tested and shows a moderate level of glyphosate resistance. Basta was used as a first knockdown, followed by Voraxor + Paraquat as the second knockdown at sowing.
